The National Security and Defense Council linked the reluctance of Ukrainians to be vaccinated with the influence of Russia

A large number of Ukrainians are becoming opponents of vaccination against CORONAVIRUS due to the informational influence of RUSSIA, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said on the air of the ICTV channel.

“We clearly understand that those people who are currently working against our country are also developing the topic of covid,” Danilov said, answering the host’s question about why Ukraine is one of the first places in the world in terms of the number of opponents of vaccination (56% of respondents, according to a study by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation), yielding to Russia (53%).

He noted that Ukraine is in a state of information war with Russia, and Ukrainians believe the "nonsense" about vaccination, which are distributed by TELEGRAM channels and the media. Because of this, it is difficult for them to explain that the vaccine will save them from the severe consequences of the coronavirus.

According to Danilov, despite the fact that the Ukrainian authorities fail to convince citizens to be vaccinated, on the day of October 24, 1.5 million people were vaccinated in Ukraine. He said that the first cases of infection with a new mutation of the delta strain of coronavirus AY.4.2 have already been detected in the country.
