The US administration, led by President Joe Biden, plans to hold a global online summit on the fight against CORONAVIRUS this September, Axios reports, citing sources familiar with the discussion of the initiative.

As the newspaper notes, the purpose of the forum is to intensify the efforts of countries in the distribution of coronavirus vaccines and public HEALTH resources in connection with the spread of the Delta strain. “In fact, it will take place during the UN General Assembly next month,” they added there (the 76th UN General Assembly will begin on September 14. -).

Sources of the publication specified that at the moment the US administration is discussing with non-governmental organizations the details of such a conference.

On June 16, Geneva hosted a summit between Presidents Biden and Putin of the United States and Russia, during which, among other things, the coronavirus pandemic was discussed. After the summit, the Russian leader said that "a lot of blockages" had accumulated in relations between Russia and the United States, but there was no hostility in the negotiations. In turn, Biden said that the productivity of the meeting could be judged in six months - according to the results.
