Mortality in the Novosibirsk region increased by 8.5% over the year

In April of this year, 3,199 death certificates were registered in the Novosibirsk Region. This is 11.1% less than in March and 8.5% higher than in April last year, according to statistics from the Department of Civil Registry Office of the region.

Last month, 2,383 births of children were registered in the region, which is 34.2% less than deaths. Compared to March of this year, the birth rate in the Novosibirsk Region decreased by 10.2%, compared to April last year, it increased by 2.3%.

In April of this year, 1289 marriages were registered in the region, which is 3.5% less than in March and 79.7% more than in April last year.

As Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova reported in early March, since the beginning of 2021, the death rate from the covid-19 CORONAVIRUS infection in RUSSIA has decreased. Already in January, the death rate from COVID-19 decreased by 9.5% compared to the previous month. The decrease in mortality, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, continued and even accelerated in February 2021.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,777 people have died from coronavirus in the Novosibirsk region. Over the past day, 73 new cases of infection have been registered in the region.
