Slovakia is discussing the supply of self-propelled Zuzana howitzers of its own production to Kyiv and the repair of damaged Ukrainian tanks, Defense Minister Yaroslav Naj said, Pravda reports.
Nudge specified that the howitzers should be sold and not donated to Kyiv. According to him, the discussion continues on which models of howitzers are planned to be delivered - Zuzana 2 or Zuzana 2000.
Self-propelled artillery installation (ACS) Zuzana 2-gauge 155-mm is produced in Slovakia by Konstrukta Defense. it is used, among other things, for the destruction of command posts, radio communications, the demolition of defensive structures and the destruction of tanks and armored personnel carriers. The howitzer has a long firing range, high rate of fire and maneuverability.

The Slovak Ministry of Defense is also considering the possibility of repairing damaged Ukrainian T-72 or T-55 tanks at its enterprises.
“And we are also talking about the possibility of picking up damaged Ukrainian combat vehicles, as well as T-72 or T-55 tanks, in order to repair them at our enterprises and return them to Ukraine,” Naj quoted Pravda as saying.

As for the MiG-29 fighters, which are at the disposal of Slovakia, their operation may soon become problematic, as Russian mechanics involved in maintaining the fighters leave the country, the defense minister said. In his opinion, if the operation of the MiG-29 is terminated before the delivery of American F-16s in 2024, the protection of the airspace of Slovakia could be provided by American forces from bases in Poland.
Earlier, Slovakia handed over to Ukraine its only S-300 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM), Prime Minister Eduard Heger said on April 8. The “secret transportation” of the air defense system, according to TV Noviny, took two days.
According to Heger, the defense of Slovakia will be strengthened by an additional missile defense system of NATO allies. In mid-March, the Netherlands and Germany announced their decision to supply Slovakia with the American Patriot air defense system.
Western countries, led by the United States, decided to increase the supply of weapons to Kiev against the backdrop of a Russian special operation. Russian authorities called it dangerous and provocative, and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu warned that any shipments in Ukraine that Moscow considers to be foreign weapons would be targeted by Russian troops.
