Skvortsova warned about the acceleration of the aging process due to COVID

Coronavirus provokes the development of processes characteristic of aging and accelerates them, Veronika Skvortsova, head of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA), said at a general meeting of the Russian Academy of Sciences, RBC correspondent reports.

“COVID-19 provokes and accelerates processes similar to the restructuring of aging. These changes in the first stages are potentially reversible and can be corrected,” said Skvortsova. She added that new approaches to the formation of rehabilitation treatment for people who have recovered from COVID-19 are needed .
