The Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) is ready to make a test system to detect a new strain of coronavirus in nine days. This was stated by the head of the FMBA Veronika Skvortsova on the air of the Russia 24 TV channel.
“Now we will very quickly make a kit for this omicron, because the design takes three to four days, five days to create this test system itself,” said Skvortsova.
She also noted that the omicron strain is interesting in that it actually summarized the mutations that were accumulated by previous strains.

The emergence of a new omicron strain of coronavirus was reported by British scientists on November 24. They drew attention to the increased number of mutations in the strain, which may contribute to its faster spread and resistance to existing vaccines.
