Scythian gold of the Crimea will go to Ukraine

The Amsterdam COURT of Appeal ruled that the Scythian gold from Crimea belongs to Ukraine and must be transferred to Kyiv. Scythian gold is the common name for a collection of 2,000 items from four Crimean museums, which, before the annexation of Crimea to RUSSIA, back in 2013, was taken to an exhibition in Europe. She never returned to the Crimean museums.

The collection is to remain in Kyiv until “the stabilization of the situation in Crimea,” the court decision says. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called this decision a long-awaited victory and promised to return "and Crimea" after the exhibits. The Russian authorities and the museums themselves call the fate of the collection a "raider takeover" and a blow to science. The study of some exhibits by scientists has not yet been completed. The Ministry of Culture, commenting on the decision of the court in Amsterdam to transfer the Scythian gold to Ukraine, declared their support for the museums of the region and that they would continue the litigation for the return of artifacts.
