For trips between regions, Russians sometimes chose a taxi during these May holidays, according to the Citymobil aggregator. Moscow turned out to be the most popular destination for almost all regions, but in two cases it gave way to neighboring cities.
The study analyzed data on all taxi and scooter trips made from May 1 to May 10 using Citymobil in cities with a population of more than 1 million people.
Moscow was by far the leader in terms of trips among residents of almost all major cities (St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Kazan, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg and others), followed by St. Petersburg. The exception was the residents of Chelyabinsk - they most often traveled by taxi to Yekaterinburg, as well as residents of Krasnodar, who most often traveled by taxi to Sochi. Muscovites themselves most often took a taxi to St. Petersburg, in second place - Sochi.
Most of all other Russians outside their hometown by taxi during these long May weekends were chosen by residents of St. Petersburg. The number of trips from the Northern capital to Kronstadt has increased 10 times, and to Sestroretsk - 3 times. In addition to St. Petersburg, Sochi showed a noticeable jump in the number of trips by taxi outside the city - the number of trips to Lazarevskoye increased by 2.5 times, to Krasnaya Polyana - by 1.5 times.
CityMobile also provides statistics on the use of the company's electric scooters during these May holidays. In Moscow, VDNKh and Gorky Park became a favorite place for skiing during the holidays, in St. Petersburg - Palace Square and Petrovsky Victory Park.
