
Sri Lanka is suspending the entry of passengers from abroad for a period of ten days to control the situation with COVID-19 . This was reported by Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on Twitter.
“All international airports in Sri Lanka will not allow passengers to drop off in Sri Lanka from 11:59 pm May 21, 2021 (21:29 Moscow time) to 23:59 hours May 31, 2021 (21:29) in order to control the situation with COVID -19 in the country,” the department said in a statement.
The message clarified that entry for transit passengers will be allowed if their flight departs from the airports of the island nation no later than 12 hours after arrival.

On March 25, Russia decided to resume flights with six countries, including Sri Lanka. The issuance of visas to Russians was suspended in March last year.
