The lifting of sanctions against RUSSIA is possible if an understanding is reached with Ukraine, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in an interview with ZDF TV channel, Zeit reports.
“We will not lift sanctions without the consent of Ukraine. He (Russian President Vladimir Putin . -) should come to an agreement with Ukraine, ”Scholz said, adding that this should not be an “imposed peace.”
The goal of Scholz, according to him, is the immediate cessation of hostilities, the withdrawal of Russian forces from the territory of Ukraine. At the same time, says the German chancellor, "Russia should not win, and Ukraine should not lose."
