Seoul promised to help the DPRK to fight COVID-19 with the consent of its authorities

SOUTH KOREA is ready to provide any necessary assistance to the DPRK to combat the outbreak of CORONAVIRUS, the main thing is that Pyongyang agrees to this, said President Yun Seok-yol, speaking to the National Assembly.

“If the North Korean authorities agree, we will not spare any necessary support, such as medicines, including covid-19 vaccines , medical equipment and medical personnel,” he said.

North Korean authorities officially announced that an infected COVID-19 was detected in the country only on May 12. Prior to this, the government denied the presence of the disease in the country. Pyongyang calls the infection a "fever".
