Russian regions spent almost 1.1 trillion rubles on measures to overcome the consequences of the pandemic in 2020, according to the Bulletin of the Accounts Chamber.
“The total amount of additional expenses due to the implementation of measures in the regions to prevent the consequences of CORONAVIRUS infection in 2020 amounted to 1,093.6 billion rubles,” the department calculated.
Budget money was mainly directed to support the healthcare sector, social security of the population and to support small and medium-sized businesses.
Since the amount of expenses for the implementation of measures to combat the consequences of the coronavirus is not limited, and their list is not specified, the corresponding costs per person by region "varied significantly," the Accounts Chamber noted.
