St. Petersburg overtakes Moscow in daily increase in COVID-19 cases

Over the past day, 1341 new cases of CORONAVIRUS have been detected in St. Petersburg , this number exceeds the figures for Moscow, in which 1335 new cases of the disease were detected over the same period, follows from the data of the operational headquarters.

In terms of the number of new cases per day, they are followed by:

Chelyabinsk region - 445;

Krasnodar Territory - 432.

In total, over the past day, 16,343 new cases of the disease have been detected in the country, this is the minimum figure since mid-June, another 835 people have died. Over the entire period of the spread of infection in RUSSIA, more than 10.5 million people fell ill, 311 thousand died.

In Moscow, according to the staff's estimates as of December 30, herd immunity is 71.4%, more than 6.7 million injections of the first component of the vaccine have been made and more than 6.3 million vaccination courses have been completed.
