Roszdravnadzor called the necessary pace of vaccination against COVID in the region

To prevent the spread of CORONAVIRUS in the Novosibirsk region, it is necessary to vaccinate at least 60% of the inhabitants of the region, which is about 1.8 million people. This was announced during a live broadcast of the NGS portal by the HEAD of the territorial body of Roszdravnadzor Elena Khrustaleva.

She noted that on average, one sick person can infect four people. If at least every second inhabitant of the region is vaccinated, then the rate of spread of infection will greatly decrease.

“We need to achieve vaccination of about 20 thousand people a day, and then we will achieve everything. At the moment, about 16% of the adult population of the region have been vaccinated,” Khrustaleva said.

Two weeks ago, the average daily number of people vaccinated with the second dose of the vaccine was 2.2 thousand people per day. This figure for the second dose is about 5.7 thousand people. From 7 to 10 thousand people are vaccinated every day with the first component of the vaccine in the region.

Khrustaleva added that a total of 25% of people in the region have been vaccinated, 16% of which are adults. To build herd immunity, at least 20,000 people need to be vaccinated every day.

As the head of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor Alexander Shcherbatov said today at an operational meeting in the government of the Novosibirsk Region, the volume of tests for detecting coronavirus in the Novosibirsk Region tripled over the week and amounted to 70,000.

He noted that the increase in the number of tests makes it possible to better identify the sick and those who carry the infection asymptomatically. Over the week, the increase in the incidence in the region amounted to 10%.

As of the morning of July 5, 47.6 thousand cases of coronavirus were registered in the region, including 3.2 thousand children. 42 thousand patients have fully recovered. During the day, 173 cases of infection were detected in the Novosibirsk region.
