The day before, a meeting was held under the leadership of First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov with the regions, at which it was decided to postpone the census. As the head of Rosstat Pavel Malkov explained, this is due to the fact that the resources and IT infrastructure that are planned to be used in the census in the regions will be used a little earlier in a single voting day (September 19). Rosstat will need time to reconfigure this IT infrastructure, and people "to give a little rest."
