The first symptoms appear 2 to 12 days after a mosquito bite. These include severe joint pain , a sudden rise in temperature, and a skin rash. In severe cases, complications involving the brain and heart are possible.

The Ministry of HEALTH announced yesterday that specialists have not registered a single case of chikungunya fever in RUSSIA, but warned of the risk of imported cases.
