Russia returned the first place in terms of tourist flow to Turkey

More than 1.55 million Russian tourists visited Turkey between January and July 2021, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic. At the same time, half of these tourists came in July (807.7 thousand people), when Russia resumed flights to Turkish resorts.

Thus, the Russians regained their first place among foreign tourists who visited Turkey since the beginning of this year. Following the results of seven months, Germany is in second place (1.26 million tourists), Ukraine is in third place (1.12 million).

At the same time, according to the results of the first half of the year, Ukraine was in first place in terms of tourist flow to Turkey. During this period, the republic was visited by 772.4 thousand Ukrainian tourists. Russia, according to the results of the first six months, was in second place (746.7 thousand tourists). it was followed by Germany (516.4 thousand). The top five in both cases also included Bulgaria and Iran.

Russia has limited air traffic with Turkey since April 15 due to the worsening situation with the spread of CORONAVIRUS in the republic. Flights to Turkish resorts have been resumed since June 22. Tourists must have a vaccination certificate completed at least two weeks before entering the country, a certificate of COVID-19 or a negative PCR test.
