RUSSIA has extended the ban on flights to Tanzania until August 17. This is stated in the message of the operational headquarters for combating the spread of CORONAVIRUS infection, received by RBC.
Tanzania was among the first countries with which Russia restored flights after the lockdown last year. On April 15, 2021, due to the difficult situation with COVID-19 in the country, flights there were suspended. Now, the operational headquarters explained that the new extension of restrictions was caused by the need to “ensure the protection of public HEALTH.”
In March, President John Magufuli died of COVID-19 in Tanzania, denying the presence of coronavirus in the country. Initially, Moscow imposed a ban on air traffic with Tanzania until June 1, but it was repeatedly extended.
Tour operators have completed the EXPORT of organized tourists from Turkey and Tanzania Society
At the time the restrictions were introduced, there were about 4,000 organized Russian tourists in Tanzania. They began to be taken out of the country by special flights.
