Russia has extended the restriction of air traffic with Turkey until the end of June

Restrictions on flights to Tanzania have also been extended

RUSSIA is extending the suspension of flights with Turkey and Tanzania until June 21 inclusive due to the situation with covid-19 in these countries. This is stated in the message of the operational headquarters for the fight against CORONAVIRUS infection.

“Given the difficult epidemiological situation in Turkey and Tanzania, it was decided to extend the current restrictions on air traffic until June 21, 2021 inclusive,” the headquarters said in a statement.

Russia has limited flights with Turkey from April 15 to June 1. The number of flights between the countries was reduced to two per week on a reciprocal basis, flights are operated by only two airlines - Aeroflot and Turkish Airlines.

Turkey expressed hope for the early resumption of flights with Russia Society

This decision was due to the worsening epidemiological situation in Turkey. In April, record-breaking incidence rates were recorded there - more than 60 thousand infections per day. Against this background, the country's authorities announced a lockdown.
