The Russian military destroyed the launchers of S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, discovered by intelligence, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
“High-precision air-launched missiles in the area of the village of Starobogdanovka, Mykolaiv region and at the military airfield Chuguev (Kharkiv region. -) destroyed the launchers of Ukrainian S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems identified by reconnaissance,” the report says.
In addition, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the military destroyed the headquarters and base of the nationalist battalion "Dnepr" with high-precision sea-based missiles, where, according to the Ministry of Defense, foreign mercenaries had recently arrived. Also, air defense systems shot down eight drones.
In total, according to the agency, since the beginning of the special military operation, 127 aircraft, 98 helicopters, 234 S-300, Buk-M1, Osa AKM anti-aircraft missile systems, 436 drones, 2052 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 232 installations of multiple launch rocket systems, 894 field artillery pieces and mortars, as well as 1975 units of special military vehicles.

S-300 air defense systems were developed in the USSR in the first half of the 1970s, they are designed to destroy tactical and strategic aircraft. The S-300 consists of a command post with a detection RADAR (RLS), with which up to six anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMs) are associated.
