Russian virologists received samples of the Indian strain of coronavirus

Russian specialists already have a sample of the Indian SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus strain at their disposal, Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said.

“We have a strain of the Indian coronavirus,” Murashko said, answering the question whether Russia received this strain (quoted by RIA Novosti).

The head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, announced on April 29 that Russian specialists had requested a sample of this coronavirus mutation.

“Of course, we requested an Indian strain, and I am sure that we will soon have it so that we can fully study it, our research center Vector is doing this, it works around the clock,” she said then.
