In RUSSIA, the incidence of covid-19 is growing again in 20 regions, including Moscow and the Moscow Region, Rospotrebnadzor reported.

In Moscow, the incidence increased by 30.9%, in the Moscow region - by 4.3%. The proportion of patients with pneumonia for the month increased from 1.9 to 2.9%.

Rospotrebnadzor added that cases of incidence of new variants of the BQ CORONAVIRUS have already been registered in Russia. 1 and B.Q. 1.1 ("Cerberus"). They are faster than other variants of COVID-19, they are transmitted from person to person, the service explained.

“The symptoms of influenza and COVID-19 at the initial stage of the course of the disease are similar - fever, cough, joint pain, headache, loss of strength, but the methods of treating these infections differ significantly. <...> In the current situation, timely access to a DOCTOR is of particular importance. Only a doctor can make a correct diagnosis and prescribe the necessary course of treatment,” Rospotrebnadzor noted.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, in an interview with RIA Novosti, said that the incidence of COVID-19 in the city is low. “Somehow covid faded into the background, but there is, of course, a small amount of diseases, from 500 to 1 thousand people, these are the minimum values,” he said.

The Cerberus strain was identified in Europe in September, at the end of October it appeared in Russia. Coronavirus variant BQ.1.1, a mutated variant of BA.5 (“omicron”), is characterized by rapid spread (20–30% faster than “omicron”).

The HEAD of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, noted in October that this year the coronavirus “behaves like seasonal viruses familiar to Russians,” and the peak incidence coincided with the September rise in SARS. She did not rule out an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 by the end of autumn.
