
New CORONAVIRUS variants do not change its symptoms; it remains a respiratory infection with various manifestations, Anna Popova, HEAD of Rospotrebnadzor, told RIA Novosti.
"We've seen an increase since early August and the last weeks of July, but still at low levels, with mild cases. However, new coronavirus variants don't change this picture. There have been several of them before, all of them have been discussed, and we're constantly providing information. They don't change the clinical picture; they remain viruses that cause respiratory infections with varying clinical symptoms," Popova said.
She noted thatcovid-19 has become a seasonal disease, but it continues to be monitored much more closely than other viruses. According to Popova, coronavirus cases in RUSSIA have been rising for the sixth week in a row.
