Rospotrebnadzor named the number of identified cases of "omicron" in Bashkiria

The Office of Rospotrebnadzor in Bashkiria reported three confirmed cases of infection with the omicron strain of CORONAVIRUS. A new variant of the infection was confirmed in three people, including two residents of the region and one resident of the Orenburg region.

“All cases are imported - residents of the republic arrived at the Ufa airport from Tanzania, a resident of the Orenburg region with her grandchildren flew from Turkey,” the ministry said in a statement.

All three were hospitalized, doctors assess their condition as satisfactory. All contact persons, including passengers and crew of the flight that arrived in the capital of the republic, as well as contact persons among the relatives of the infected, are isolated and are under the supervision of doctors. Contacts are tested daily for covid-19 .

Rospotrebnadzor notes that Omicron is highly contagious (contagious) and mild to moderate in severity of the infection. The agency recommends getting vaccinated or revaccinated and following safety precautions.

As RBC Ufa reported, on Tuesday, January 11, the chief sanitary DOCTOR of RUSSIA, Anna Popova, announced the detection of "omicron" in Bashkiria and 12 other regions of the country at a meeting in the country's government. She noted that to date, 305 cases of infection with this variant of coronavirus have been identified throughout the country.
