
The Ministry of Economy sharply raised the forecast for GDP growth
The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia raised its forecast for the growth of the Russian economy in 2021, despite the third wave of the pandemic. Now the agency expects it to be 3.8% instead of 2.9% expected in April. The ministry left the forecast for GDP growth in 2022–2023 unchanged (3.2 and 3%, respectively). At the same time, it raised the inflation forecast from 4.3 to 5%, above the target of the Central Bank. A recovery rebound of GDP in 2021 by 3.8% after falling by 3% last year will be the fastest growth of the economy since 2012, follows from Rosstat data. The final draft socio-economic development forecast for 2022-2024 will be presented in September, based on these parameters, the Ministry of Finance will draw up the budget for the same years.Cancellation of temporary residence permits
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has prepared and submitted for discussion a bill amending the rules for the entry and stay of foreigners in Russia, according to the website of the ministry. One of the important changes is the proposal to abandon temporary residence permits (TRPs), which gives a foreigner the right to legally live and work in Russia until he receives a residence permit or citizenship.
