Standby mode: will COVID-restrictions be lifted in Tatarstan

Rospotrebnadzor of the Republic of Tatarstan said that in the near future, residents of the republic should not expect new easing of existing covid restrictions.The authorities will return to this issue after the stabilization of the epidemiological situation.

The deputy HEAD of Rospotrebnadzor for the Republic of Tatarstan, Lyubov Avdonina, said that in the near future, the republic should not expect an easing of restrictions associated with a new CORONAVIRUS infection. 

“Definitely not in the near future. Let me remind you that our SARS season continues through March, so this issue is not being worked out today. All the existing restrictions are adequate to the current epidemiological situation. So everything will continue until the situation becomes sufficiently stable and close to a decrease in the incidence,” she said at a press conference at the Tatar-inform news agency.

According to her, the authorities will return to this issue later. 

On February 19, a resolution was published on amendments to the document on counteracting the spread of coronavirus. it was signed by Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexei Pesoshin.

Starting February 21, QR codes will no longer be required to visit catering establishments, theatres, cinemas, other cultural institutions, and sporting events. Halls can be filled to 70% in compliance with social distance. QR codes have also been canceled in public transport.

In addition, the authorities allowed retail shops, baths and saunas to work at night. The mask regime on the territory of Tatarstan and a number of other previously introduced restrictions will continue to operate.

Avdonina said that now the issue of resuming the night work of catering establishments is not being discussed in Tatarstan.
