The US administration plans to begin work this week to ease entry into the United States for certain categories of Ukrainian citizens, Reuters reported, citing three informed sources.
Relatives of American citizens or holders of a residence permit in the United States will be expedited in obtaining visas, one of the interlocutors of the agency said. According to him, the administration intends to increase the number of employees who process applications for temporary status, which allows them to enter the country for humanitarian reasons.
In addition, special attention will be paid to activists, representatives of the LGBTQ community, journalists and other “potentially vulnerable” groups, Reuters writes, citing sources.
