Biden's disapproval rating is the highest of his presidency

US President Joe Biden's disapproval rating rose to 56%, the highest level of his presidency, according to an NBC News poll.

Meanwhile, Biden's approval rating among registered voters is 41%.

According to the poll, a total of 74% of registered voters said they have serious (59%) or moderate (15%) concerns that Biden, at 80, does not have the necessary mental and physical HEALTH to seek a second term as president.

Additionally, 59% of voters said they want a Democratic candidate to challenge Biden for the nomination in 2024, even though no major intraparty challenger has emerged.

Survey participants also spoke about their attitude towards Biden’s alleged opponent in the election, former President Donald Trump. 62% have either serious (52%) or moderate (10%) concerns that the latter will face criminal trials for alleged offenses, including attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

However, according to the poll, Biden and Trump would have about equal chances of winning if the election were held this month. 46% of voters are ready to cast their votes for one of the two. 

1 thousand people took part in the survey, which took place from September 15 to 19.

According to REUTERS /IPSOS, Biden's highest approval rating (59%) was recorded in the spring of 2021, after taking office as US President.

At 80, Biden is considered the oldest sitting HEAD of state in US history. In April, he officially announced his candidacy for the 2024 election, stressing that he wanted to finish the job he started as the country was gripped by a “deadly pandemic” and the economy and democracy were under threat.
