British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's job approval rating has fallen to an all-time low in his time at the head of government amid the Christmas party scandal that took place on Downing Street last year during the lockdown. It is reported by the sociological institute YouGov.
According to an Institute poll, two-thirds (66%) of the British public now have a negative view of Johnson, and only a quarter (24%), on the contrary, are positive. The rest of the respondents did not decide on their attitude towards the prime minister.
Johnson's current negative approval rating of minus 42 is down 11 points from the previous survey from mid-November. It is also the lowest figure for the prime minister since moving to Downing Street in July 2019.

YouGov recalled that Johnson's highest approval rating (plus 29) was recorded in April last year, at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Now, as sociologists note, dissatisfaction with the prime minister is growing among not only opposition-minded citizens, but also supporters of the ruling Conservative Party: 41% of voters who traditionally vote for Tories are critical of the head of government (at the end of November, this figure was 36%).
