Why Novosibirsk residents move to another region and where they move

Residents of the Novosibirsk region are changing the region for a comfortable urban environment and the opportunity to earn more. This is a survey of hh.ru research analysts.

At the same time, the factor of a comfortable urban environment (developed transport infrastructure, leisure opportunities, high-quality work of public utilities) turned out to be more significant for residents of the Novosibirsk Region than in RUSSIA as a whole. it was noted by 55% of Novosibirsk residents, which is 11 points higher than the average Russian indicators. The second significant indicator is the salary (53%). In third place in the ranking of importance is a comfortable climate and good ecology (33%).

When choosing a region for moving, people first of all evaluate the opportunity to find a job by profession, and the opportunity for communication, accommodation of acquaintances, friends and relatives in the region. The presence of leading universities and research centers is also significant.

“Compared to the answers in 2020, the share of those wishing to move from the Novosibirsk Region increased most significantly due to an uncomfortable urban environment (+ 7%) and poor ecology or uncomfortable climatic conditions (+ 8%),” the study states.

According to the results of the hh.ru survey in March, the share of people wishing to change their place of residence has increased in the region. Thus, almost half of the respondents from the Novosibirsk region periodically think about the possibility of moving to another region of Russia (48%), in two years the share of such answers increased by 4 pp.

Moscow is the leader among the most attractive regions for Russians to move to: it was chosen by 22% of respondents. Krasnodar Territory was in second place - it was chosen by 16%, St. Petersburg was in third. This is followed by the Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions (6%), the Moscow region (5%).
