Putin supported those who lost loved ones due to COVID Vladimir Putin

In Russia, an "insidious disease" has claimed tens of thousands of lives, President Vladimir Putin said in his New Year's televised address. It has already been shown in several regions of Russia, where the New Year came earlier than in Moscow.

“I want to express words of sincere support to all those who have lost relatives and friends,” Putin said. According to him, we "together continued to fight a dangerous epidemic that has swept all continents and is not receding yet" (quoted by TASS).

In his address, the president also noted: "The most important thing" is that "we overcame the difficulties of the outgoing year together, protected those who found themselves in a difficult situation, first of all, supported the older generations and families where children grow up."

В ноябре из-за COVID-19 умерли более 80 тыс. россиян, следовало из статистики естественного движения населения, которая была опубликована Росстатом 30 декабря. Также еще у 7,4 тыс. россиян коронавирус был сопутствующей причиной смерти. Данные Росстата построены на основе медицинских свидетельств из системы ЗАГС.
