Putin instructed to expand the program of gasification of Russian regions

Expanding the gasification program for Russian regions is one of the priorities of Russia's future energy strategy until 2050, which must be approved by September 15 this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting on the current situation in the oil and gas industry. The broadcast was conducted by the Russia-24 TV channel.

“We need to expand the gasification program for Russian regions. So change approaches to its implementation in order to extend it to the maximum number of subjects of the Russian Federation, settlements and households. The task is quite specific, wherever possible, gas - either pipelined or liquefied - must reach the consumer,” the head of state said.

Putin named the cities where, first of all, it is necessary to gasify houses Economics

As Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak reported in January, by the end of 2021, the level of gasification in Russia was 72%. Gas is available in 78 out of 85 regions; 43 million apartments and households in 48 thousand settlements were gasified, Novak specified.

Gasification of the Russian regions is carried out by Gazprom Gasification LLC. According to the program for 2021-2025, more than 24,000 km of new gas pipelines are to be built in 68 regions, which will provide gas to more than 500,000 households and apartments.

In September last year, the head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, promised that by the end of 2025, 100 percent technically possible gasification would be achieved in 35 regions of the country. And by 2030, according to Miller, such a result is expected in the whole country.
