Putin instructed to organize the vaccination of migrant workers

The government must provide foreigners with the possibility of paid vaccination against coronavirus until June 30. The corresponding order was given by President Vladimir Putin .

By July 15, the government should also organize COVID-19 vaccination for labor migrants, "identifying the sources of funding for relevant activities."

Putin instructed the government to work out the issue of vaccination of foreigners, including labor migrants, during a speech at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum in early June.

As Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said, first of all, the authorities will discuss the possibility of vaccinating those labor migrants and foreigners who are already in Russia. Also, the country is considering the option of simplified importation of labor migrants with mandatory vaccination for them, said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

It is planned to vaccinate foreign workers with the Sputnik Light vaccine. In Moscow, points of paid vaccination for migrants will open after the registration of this vaccine, which is expected "in the coming days," said Anastasia Rakova, Vice Mayor of the capital. According to the operational headquarters, vaccination stations will start operating near the Sadovod market.
