The self-proclaimed Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics will receive an additional volume of Russian vaccines against CORONAVIRUS. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on a direct line broadcast by RBC.
“This is an issue that requires careful attention to it. In my opinion, several thousand, 90 or something, doses of the vaccine have already been delivered. An additional volume will be delivered,” Putin said, answering a question from a resident of Luhansk who asked for Russian vaccines to be provided to residents of Donbass.
Deliveries of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine to the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass began in January 2021; the DPR authorities sent an application for this drug back in October 2020. The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, answering the question why RUSSIA is supplying the vaccine to unrecognized states, said: “Of course, people there also need a vaccine. And if not us, then no one will put it there.” Mass vaccination in the LPR and DPR started in early February.
