President Vladimir Putin , at a meeting on economic issues, said that in Russia, before the summer vacation season, it is urgent to work on the formation of collective immunity. But he considered inappropriate vaccination for this purpose.

“Citizens themselves must realize this need, understand that if they do not get vaccinated, they may face a very serious and even mortal danger,” the HEAD of state said. They thought about compulsory vaccination of the population in Yakutia, but not for long: on May 25, the regional government announced plans to make vaccination mandatory, a few hours later changed the word “mandatory” to “mass” in a press release, and on May 26, the head of the republic, Aisen Nikolaev, announced that mandatory Vaccination is considered impossible and unnecessary. The opinions of lawyers about whether the authorities of the regions have to introduce compulsory vaccinations were divided, but most of them nevertheless considered that there was no legal basis for this.
