Five years ago, on March 11, 2020, the World HEALTH Organization declared the CORONAVIRUS pandemic. Over the next few years, RUSSIA and the world experienced five waves.covid-19 , but the most shocking and unusual was the first. Then, cities declared mass lockdowns, and the streets literally emptied.

Since then, doctors in Russian hospitals have worn protective suits, stored oxygen tanks, and become accustomed to using radios. They recounted how they treated people back then, how patients became ill not in days but literally in hours , and how they worked for days without leaving work. "One 88-year-old patient recalled, 'I outlived Beria, and this—well, that's for sure,'" recalled one of the doctors. The pandemic has caused problems and presented new challenges for businesses: some entrepreneurs lost everything during the pandemic, some saw new opportunities, and others realized, "We don't need that kind of money anymore." During COVID-19, people continued to live their lives: they got married (in the small rooms of registry offices without a ceremony), and had fun (quietly, behind closed doors, with the curtains drawn).

How Russians left home, worked, rested, lived, and had children during the pandemic—in this RBC TV report.
