The Governor of the Pskov region, Mikhail Vedernikov, said that the situation with the number of hospitalizations of patients with COVID-19 in the region is becoming critical.

“Today, the intensive care unit of the Pskov Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital is overcrowded, the number of beds is at the limit,” Vedernikov wrote on Instagram.

He noted that among those hospitalized in serious condition, mostly people aged 20 to 45 years. At the moment, the condition of 97 people, including a ten-year-old child, is assessed as serious.

“Everyone is already in the second stage of the development of a new coronavirus infection, while in the first they did not have any signs of COVID-19, and the disease is developing very rapidly,” the governor said.

According to him, now the oxygen station in the hospital is "working to the limit." “The supply is designed mainly for resuscitation. But now all patients in the infectious diseases hospital need oxygen. And the station cannot cope with such a load, ”Vedernikov explained.
