US President Joe Biden “would like to visit Ukraine,” but is not going to do so yet, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said during a briefing broadcast on the US administration’s Twitter page.
“The President would very much like to visit Ukraine, but at the moment there are no plans that are in the process of being implemented,” she said, adding that the White House will continue to assess the situation.

According to Psaki, the American side wants, first of all, to resume the work of the embassy in Kyiv, so that diplomats "do not just go back and forth, but are present in the country." The day before, Chargé d'Affaires of the United States in Ukraine Christina Quinn said that the diplomatic mission could resume work by the end of May.
The question of Biden's possible visit to Ukraine was asked by Psaki after Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi arrived in Kyiv on May 1. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the chairman of the lower house for "a signal of strong support from the United States of America, the people, and Congress." Pelosi responded that Ukraine is "heroically fighting for freedom" and promised to continue to support Kyiv until the end of this struggle.
A few days before Pelosi's visit, other senior US officials visited Kyiv, including Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin. They promised to return American diplomats to Ukraine and send additional military aid to Kyiv.
Biden repeatedly said that he was ready to visit Ukraine, but after that Psaki clarified that the American administration had no such plans.
