The prosecutor requested six years in prison for the socialist Platoshkin

During the debate in the Gagarinsky COURT of Moscow, the state prosecution asked to sentence the HEAD of the department of international relations and diplomacy of the Moscow University for the Humanities and the leader of the movement "For New Socialism" Nikolai Platoshkin to six years in prison in the case of inciting mass riots. This was reported to RBC in the press service of the court.

In addition to imprisonment, the prosecutor asked to recover a fine of 500 thousand rubles from the communist. The announcement of the verdict in this case is scheduled for 13:00 Moscow time on May 19.

The criminal case against Platoshkin was initiated by the Investigative Committee in June last year. He was accused under two articles of the Criminal Code - part 1.1 of Art. 212 (declining or otherwise involving a person in committing riots) and Art. 207.1 (public dissemination of deliberately false information about circumstances that pose a threat to the life and safety of citizens). The UK believes that Platoshkin disseminated false information about the CORONAVIRUS infection covid-19 . He categorically denies his guilt. The investigation did not disclose other details of the case. After the charges were brought, the Basmanny Court of Moscow sent the politician under house arrest.
