
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that given the increase in the incidence of COVID-19, it is recommended to reintroduce the mask regime in labor collectives, organizations and institutions of all forms of ownership, the press service of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan reports.
Over the past week, the incidence of COVID-19 in the country has increased by 32%. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan said that today the herd immunity rate in the region is low. According to him, it is necessary to intensify work on re-vaccination.
“There is no need to wait for the epidemiological situation to become even more tense. It is important that herd immunity is developed in advance. It is necessary to ensure strict compliance with sanitary anti-epidemiological requirements in labor collectives, educational organizations and other institutions of the social sphere,” Minnikhanov said at a meeting in the government of the republic.
According to the operational headquarters, as of August 12, the level of collective immunity in the Republic of Tatarstan decreased to 3.9%. A week earlier it was 4.8%.
On June 6, the mask regime was suspended in Tatarstan. The decision was made against the backdrop of a decrease in the incidence of COVID-19.
“Against the backdrop of a decrease in the incidence of COVID-19, the operational headquarters of the republic decided to suspend the mandatory wearing of masks in public places. On behalf of the president of the republic, the relevant changes will be made to the decree of the government of Tatarstan today,” the operational headquarters of the Republic of Tatarstan reported.
The Kazan Kremlin explained that the mandatory mask regime in the republic has not been canceled, but suspended. At the same time, people who are at risk of contracting COVID-19 are advised by the authorities not to neglect wearing personal protective equipment.
