Portugal to close bars after Christmas and ban drinking on the roads

From midnight on December 25, bars and dance floors will stop working in Portugal. They managed to work for two months after a 19-month break in serving visitors and were open only to people with a negative test for coronavirus or a certificate and a past illness, including those vaccinated. Now this requirement applies to all cultural and sporting events, regardless of the occupancy of the premises.

The government also banned the Portuguese from gathering on public roads in groups of more than ten people. They will not be allowed to drink alcohol there .

Kindergartens and leisure workshops will stop working. Shops will stop letting people into the premises if their number exceeds the norm of 1 person per 5 square meters. m. In addition, the Portuguese will extend the period of mandatory remote work.
