The Russian authorities are studying the experience of other countries in introducing penalties for refusing to be vaccinated against the CORONAVIRUS. This was announced by the HEAD of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova in the film by Naili Asker-zade “Dangerous virus. The second year" on the TV channel "Russia 1".
“We are studying the experience [of fines for refusing to vaccinate against COVID-19] from different countries, we will see how effective it is, how applicable,” Popova said (quoted by TASS).
At the end of November, the Austrian authorities, amid a sharp increase in the number of cases of coronavirus, developed a bill on fines for refusing to be vaccinated. According to the bill, in the event of the first refusal of vaccination, an Austrian resident will be summoned to the district administrative body, in case of refusal, in four weeks he will be summoned again. However, if he refuses for the third time, he faces a fine of €3.6 thousand or imprisonment for four weeks. With subsequent refusals, the fine may increase to € 7.2 thousand.
This bill has not yet been passed. Once finalized and if adopted, it could enter into force in February 2022 and be valid for three years.
