The unfavorable forecast for the situation with covid-19 in RUSSIA does not exclude that the number of new cases of the disease per day can reach six figures. This was stated by the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova.

“What we are seeing today, unfortunately, creates a pessimistic forecast for a possible growing number of cases associated with covid infection, up to six figures in Russia,” she said.

Popova also warned that the incubation period of the new omicron strain of coronavirus is shorter than that of previous strains. Thus, after infection, a person can be contagious to others in a day, and after 3-5 days he may develop symptoms.

To date, 305 cases of the omicron strain have been identified in Russia in 13 subjects of the country, including Moscow and St. Petersburg .
