Rospotrebnadzor admits that the next rise in the incidence of CORONAVIRUS will occur in mid-September, said the HEAD of the federal service, Anna Popova, on the air of the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

Popova said that there are epidemiological laws according to which the virus spreads in labor collectives and in groups of children when people meet again after summer holidays. “Usually this is observed in the second decade of September. This is an annual normal rise, we are already used to it, ”she explained.

Rospotrebnadzor assumes that the incidence of covid-19 and respiratory infections will increase during this period, Popova added. “But then again, if we are not vaccinated,” the head of the federal service emphasized.

The number of deaths from coronavirus in the world exceeded 4.5 million people Society

At the same time, in RUSSIA, the dynamics of the incidence has been declining by 5-7% per week for more than a month, which, of course, indicates a stabilization of the situation, Popova added. “This is a fairly slow, smooth decline,” she said.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor also noted that among sick Russians, as well as among residents of most countries of the world, the delta strain remains dominant, and other mutations are not common.

At the end of August, Denis Protsenko, head physician of the infectious diseases hospital in Kommunarka, estimated that an increase in the incidence in Russia could occur in late September - early October. The reason will be several factors at once - the seasonal incidence of influenza, COVID-19 and returning vacationers.

According to RBC estimates, as of August 20, 40.5 million Russians were vaccinated with at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, and 32.9 million people completed the vaccination. The head of the Ministry of HEALTH, Mikhail Murashko, said that 60% of adults (68–69 million people) must be vaccinated in order for herd immunity to form in the country.

In Russia, over the past day, 18,985 people fell ill, 798 died from coronavirus. Over the entire period of the epidemic, more than 6.95 million cases were detected in the country, 184,812 people died, follows from the data of the operational headquarters.
