In early April, President Vladimir Putin instructed the government and the postal operator to conduct “an experiment with direct deliveries of Russian wine from manufacturers to consumers, including by ordering through the online resources of Russian Post JSC . This follows from the presentation “Delivery of Russian wine directly to buyers - D2C trade”, prepared by Russian Post (the document is at the disposal of RBC, the essence of the concept was confirmed by two RBC sources familiar with the discussion).
RBC's source in the retail market claims that the project is "conceptually" supported by the Ministry of Finance, and, according to the owner of one of the Russian wine producers and familiar with the content of the concept, the project's working group is now consulting with Russian Post.
Russian Post is indeed involved in the government working group to develop a project for the remote sale of ALCOHOL, the technical parameters of such a solution are being worked out, Alexei Skatin, deputy general DIRECTOR of Russian Post, confirmed to RBC.
RBC turned to the government press service, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of HEALTH for comment.
