Universities of St. Petersburg from September 1 will start training in a mixed format. Andrey Maksimov, Chairman of the Committee on Science and Higher Education, stated this on the air of the St. Petersburg TV channel.

“Regarding the form of education: I think that September 1 will begin in a mixed mode. Most likely, lectures will be held remotely, online, and practical classes will be held at the university in accordance with the requirements of Rospotrebnadzor, ”Maximov said.

Earlier, RBC Petersburg polled the city's largest universities about the format in which they would start the academic year. Starting from September 1, classes at St Petersburg University will be held in a mixed format, combining traditional classroom classes and distance learning, according to the website of the university. At HSE University in St. Petersburg, from September 1, only those students and graduate students who have vaccination documents (including foreign-made vaccines), or a certificate of having had COVID-19 during the last six months, or a medical exemption from vaccinations.

The leadership of the St. Petersburg State University of Economics has decided to admit only first-year students to the full-time distance learning format from September 1, the press service of the university told RBC Petersburg.
