Petersburg increases the number of beds for patients with coronavirus

On the eve of Euro 2020, Smolny announced the deployment of additional infectious beds. Thus, the authorities plan to keep a 20% reserve of free “covid” places.

An additional 295 beds will be opened in the temporary hospital at Lenexpo, while last week 705 beds were already deployed in the 7th pavilion. The Zarya boarding house is ready to accept up to 660 patients with covid-19 , and 900 beds will be repurposed at the Hospital for War Veterans to help patients with CORONAVIRUS.

The city has also prepared more than 6.5 thousand beds in non-infectious hospitals and 350 observation beds in the Baltiets boarding house for the European football championship. Also, within the perimeter of the Gazprom Arena stadium and at the team bases, hotels, training grounds and fan zones, mobile medical teams and ambulance teams will be on duty, a total of 563 medical workers.
