Petersburg and the Moscow region have set the maximum for new COVID patients since March

On May 21, record levels of covid-19 incidence were recorded in St. Petersburg and the Moscow region since March, follows from the latest data from the operational headquarters. In just one day, 8937 cases of COVID-19 were detected in RUSSIA, 389 people died.

In St. Petersburg, 815 cases were detected per day - this is the maximum number since March 22. The incidence rate in the city has been growing intermittently since the end of April, when the minimum increase in the number of cases was recorded in the city (682 people on April 22).

In the Moscow region, the number of new cases was a record since March 7. 753 cases of the disease have been recorded in the region. The trend of increasing incidence in the Moscow region also continues from mid-late April.
