The press secretary of the President of RUSSIA Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the possibility of expanding the "law on fakes", said that the unprecedented conditions that are developing require unprecedented decisions, RBC correspondent reports.
“To be honest, I am not familiar with the text of such a bill. One thing is clear: the situation we are facing is absolutely unprecedented – the imposition of hatred for everything Russian,” Peskov said.
Earlier, the HEAD of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications, Alexander Khinshtein, said that the law would be finalized, and responsibility would be extended to false information about the National Guard and “other state military (and not only) organizations participating in the military operation in Ukraine.”

The “law on fakes” refers to amendments to the Criminal Code on liability for “public dissemination of false information about the use of the Russian Armed Forces” (Article 207.3).
