In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the first case of infection with a strain of coronovirus "omicron" was detected. This was announced on his page on the social network by the Minister of HEALTH of the region David Melik-Huseinov.
The HEAD of the Ministry of Health said that a 28-year-old patient who had the Omicron strain was being treated in one of the covid hospitals in Nizhny Novgorod. The girl has not been vaccinated against the CORONAVIRUS.
"The disease is accompanied by viral pneumonia. The patient is receiving treatment according to the recommendations of the Russian Ministry of Health. The infection probably did not occur in the Nizhny Novgorod region," Melik-Guseinov wrote.
The Minister of Health also said that the region is now at a lower plateau in the incidence of COVID-19. In total, there were three waves of coronavirus in 2021.
"The lower plateaus become shorter from wave to wave. The beginning of a new wave occurs with a higher level of morbidity in the population," Melik-Guseinov said.
